PSA’s 160-Day Wait? Why TAG Grading Is a Game-Changer

The Agony of the Long Wait: Is PSA Too Slow?

If you're a Pokémon card collector, you know the thrill of pulling a chase card. The next logical step for any high-value card is getting it graded to preserve its condition and lock in its value. For years, Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) has been the default choice, but there's a growing frustration
in the community, and it boils down to one thing: time.

PSA recently updated its service levels, and the turnaround time for their most affordable bulk submission tier is now a staggering 160 business days. That's not including shipping time. We're talking about more than eight months of waiting for your prized possessions to return to you. In the fast-moving world of Pokémon TCG, a lot can change in eight months.

A Modern Answer: What is TAG Grading?

Enter Technical Authentication & Grading, or TAG. This innovative company is revolutionizing the card grading industry by removing the subjectivity that has plagued it for decades. Instead of relying solely on the opinion of a human grader, TAG uses a proprietary system of advanced imaging and computer analysis to deliver a purely objective grade.

They scan every card in ultra-high resolution, and their system meticulously documents every aspect of the card's condition. This means no more worrying about human error or inconsistency between graders. It's a scientific approach to a process that desperately needed it.

TAG Grading delivers what modern collectors have been asking for: a grading process that is objective, transparent, and fast.

The TAG Advantage: Speed, Data, and Flawless Slabs

So, why should a Florida collector choose TAG over the "old reliable" PSA? The benefits are clear, especially when you compare them directly.

What makes TAG a better choice right now?

• Unmatched Speed: Compared to PSA's 160-day marathon, TAG's turnaround times are a sprint. This means you get your cards back faster, allowing you to enjoy them, trade them, or sell them on your own terms.

•
Radical Transparency: This is TAG’s killer feature. Every graded card comes with a "Digital Imaging & Grading" (DIG) report. This interactive online report includes high-resolution scans of your card and pinpoints the exact location and nature of every single flaw that influenced the grade. You no longer have to guess why your card got a 9 instead of a 10.

•
Pure Objectivity: Because the grade is determined by technology, you can trust its accuracy. The TAG system measures centering down to the micron and identifies surface imperfections invisible to the naked eye. This consistency is a game-changer for building a trusted collection.

•
A Superior Slab: TAG slabs are stunning. They are crystal-clear, feel substantial and durable in your hand, and feature a clean, modern label that puts the focus squarely on your card.
